Do I need to send my old records to you prior to my first visit?
While it is useful for our provider to have your old records at the time of your first visit, especially if you have complicated health histories, it is not necessary. We will be happy to send for your records at the time of your visit with your written consent.

When should I have a complete physical?
For preventative care, in general, you should have a physical every five years while in your twenties, every three years while in your thirties, every other year while in your forties, and every year after age fifty. Women should have a yearly Pap test and a mammogram every year after age forty.

Can I be assured of total confidentiality?
Yes! All of our employees sign a confidentiality agreement regarding the use and care of your medical information. Strict confidentiality is a priority in our practice. We fully understand our legal obligations to protect your privacy according to the privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which is federal law. Feel free to ask us about any of your concerns regarding privacy and confidentiality.

Can you treat my whole family or do I need a pediatrician?
Yes. We treat everyone from newborns to geriatric patients.
|
How long will it take me to get an appointment?
We believe it's vitally important that our sick patients are seen by a provider as soon as possible. Toward that goal, we will work hard to get you a same day appointment if at all possible. If necessary, a new patient visit can be scheduled within a week. Physical appointments are usually scheduled four weeks out.

What do I do if I need a prescription refill on a medication I take every day?
Your provider will give you enough medication and refills to last until your scheduled recheck appointment. Often, chronic medications require lab tests before a prescription for a refill can be given which may require a office visit.
The MA staff will be glad to assist you with refills to your local or mail order pharmacy. We ask that you leave a refill request on only one MA’s voice mail to avoid duplication. No refills may be faxed to local or mail order pharmacies. If using a mail order pharmacy, we ask that YOU be responsible for anticipating and mailing the prescription information.
